REGISTRATION UPDATE - June 2, 2021:

Hey Shagabecers!

This year, as we mentioned, we will not be selling merchandise at camp during check in or pick up. We are however, operating an on-line store through a third party that will do direct delivery to your home.

All orders need to be in by June 20th.

We would also like to address the provincial announcement that came out on Friday, May 28th regarding overnight camps. We were caught off guard by the sudden announcement, but it is certainly exciting news for the future of summer camps.

Please understand that we cannot switch plans on a moment’s notice as it takes our volunteers months to organize and orchestrate all the resources and staff to make Camp Shagabec successful. We will certainly continue to assess and take guidance from SHA as we move forward with the understanding that we will not be switching to overnight camps.

Everyone that has registered to date (May 2, 2021), you are accepted. We will send out a final confirmation with details regarding your camp by May 31, 2021. WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!

April 2, 2021 - Hey Shagabecers! Just wanted to give a quick update regarding our registration date for the upcoming season. We have decided to move it to April 30, 2021 at 2 PM. We are hoping by waiting a little bit longer, we will have more information from the government as to how our camping season will look this summer. Thank you so much for your understanding. REGISTRATION REFUNDS - JUNE 7, 2020

Hello Shagabecers,

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been processing the refunds (as the requests come in). Thank you for your patience. Each of the refunds does take quite a while to process and… we are volunteers doing our best.

As for the $5 that you did not see back on your card, that was a fee that Stripe (the operating system camp uses to obtain the money for registrations, the fee is actually $10 and camp pays for $5 of it) was paid when you registered Feb 1.

This fee does not come back to us (all $10 of it), we only see the cost of camp. I hope you will understand that there is no way camp could be out of pocket for 450 Stripe registration fees (as we are already at a loss for our $5 per registration). We have been in touch with Stripe and they were not willing to forgo that fee.

To those who have been adding kind words in your email responses, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness goes a long way.

COVID 19 NEWS - May 16, 2020

With very heavy hearts, we regret to inform all of you that, due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus, all camps for the 2020 season have been cancelled. After reviewing the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan, the camp committee came to the conclusion that it would be impossible to run camps safely and effectively considering the restrictions that would be in place.

We will be refunding your full registration, but if you are able, please consider making a monetary donation to Camp Shagabec (charitable tax receipts will be issued). With or without summer camp programs running, we still have many expenses to keep our facilities operating.

Parents, you should have received an email on May 16th and you will have to respond to it. If you did not receive an email (don't forget to check your "junk" folder), then contact the camp registrar.
